ENERGY GENERATION

We are Ospreywood Labs and our mission is to light up the world. That’s why our team of specialized engineers initiated Project Light Up, which runs on smart innovations in energy production to make a difference in people’s lives.

Investments in energy improve local income generation by freeing up men and women’s time and money for more productive uses that can improve their welfare. In fact, studies show that countries substantially reduce poverty as a result of increasing investments in modern energy services.

Project Light Up aims to provide access to energy and time-saving technology to individuals in developing countries. Individuals and communities are thus able to increase their productivity, generate income and pursue education and entrepreneurial ventures.

Over the past 50 years, increased educational attainment accounts for 50 per cent of the economic growth in countries enlisted in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Providing time-saving technology to communities in the developed world thus proves to be beneficial for individual families, entire communities, and the country over time.

In the coming 30 years, demand for electricity in developing countries is expected to increase at an annual rate of 4.1 percent, twice that of developed countries. The International Energy Agency (IEA) concludes that developing countries will have to invest in (1) the extension of electricity grid in urban areas, (2) mini grids in medium-sized settlements, (3) decentralized installations providing thermal, mechanical and electric power in rural areas, and (4) maintenance and upgrading of existing infrastructure.

Ospreywood Labs aims to help developing countries meet these goals and improve the welfare of their citizens by providing them with fast and safe solutions to their electricity and energy deficits.
